Opera for adolescents?

For secondary schools our workshops are more involved aiming to combat the inhibition that resides in most teenagers and bring out the performing personality inherent in us all.

Although a form of entertainment that most are unfamiliar with, there is a great deal of fun to be had and much to be learned from opera.

We look at aspects of vocal production as well as role playing and apply this not only to the arena of theatre, but also to how these skills can help us through life’s every day challenges as kids, adolescents and beyond.

This is not a necessarily a workshop for kids who want to head for the stage and the glory of the footlights so much as an opportunity for the shy lad at the back of the class to stand up and be counted.
